Buying Distressed Property

Have you been searching for a home, but can't quite find what you are looking for in the available inventory right now? Have you noticed that every home may either be out of your price range, or if its not, needs more work than you are willing to take on? Have you shied away from short sales and foreclosures, because you are concerned about the uncertainty ahead of you, or because you have an agent who is not experienced with the process of managing a distressed property transaction?

You still have an option. Think about these distressed properties as opportunities, and embrace them with open arms! They are likely priced at below market value, and you will be able to add the personal touches that you would like in the home. You can also benefit from a renovation loan- like the FHA 203k- that will provide you with money to purchase the home, while also getting additional money to perform some necessary renovations. There are other variations that will also allow non-necessary improvements.
